Aspen Eagle Master Inspector
Software Instructions
New / Open Screen
- New Inspection:
1) Insert New Project Name. We will remove spaces and certain characters.
2) Use dropdown if you want to use another inspection as a template.
3) click the template or inspection below you want to use, and the new inspection will be created.
- Open Inspection: Use the dropdown and click.
Sections pane on left: Sections
- Click section tabs to open or expand/collapse. Your current system section is visible at the top of screen over the location dropdown.
- Click the Location dropdown and select "Edit Room List" to create a location list for the property.
- Checking finished basement, finished attic, or selecting main floors will allow for further options.
- Each section has some basic defaults. Select the options that fit the property, add custom locaiton tags, and click save after scrolling to the bottom.
- You now have a complete list of locations in your location dropdown. Sections and Comments will be automatically marked with the current location. -- so be sure to change your location as you enter each room. If you want to change a room on a section of comment, just swipe left to delete and select again.
- Use radios to select Inspected, Not Inspected, or Not Present, as well as Acceptable, Improvable, or Defective.
- Important: Any section that has no selected radio or no room will not be included in the report. Make certain that the base section tab has been copied and there is a red room label on it, even if it reads "[none]".
- Delete a selected tab by swiping left.
Sections pane on left: Options ( on upper left)
- Scroll down for all options. Everything is pretty self explanatory.
- "Set Program Base Directory" at the bottom refers to the photo/pdf folder. This will get big, so keep it in external storage.
Comments pane on right: Top
- "New" up top inserts a new comment below the first visible comment on screen. The new comment will inherit the section of that first comment.
- "Filter Remarks..." allow for a filter of currently displayed comments only. Insert a keyword or phrase to fast filter.
- "Batch" has a few options:
1) "Batch Photos" allows you to take multiple device photos without attaching them to any comment. Then use batch drag and drop to attach them to the comments you have selected to include in your report.
2) "From Folders" allows the same thing using the image browser for local files.
3) "Batch Drag and Drop" allows you to qickly attach, remove, or move photos around. It only includes selected commments, so select all your comments for your report or current location first.
- Important: Some (many) devices have non-standard photo applications that do not return data correctly. If you encounter problems taking photos, we recommend installing another camera app from Google Play. We like "Open Camera".
Comments pane on right: comments
- Single click comment text to read it in full. Single click again to close.
- Swipe right or double click to open a comment for editing.
- Important: Dropdowns also include a freeform text field. Just click on the left side and enter your text.
- Swipe left to delete.
- Single click on short title on left to include. The left pane will have a violet background if comment will be included in report.
- Single click again to remove comment from report.
- Swipe left on comment text to delete. This only works for cloned comments.
- There are four buttons in the left pane of the comment to take a device photo, import a file, or import from a hot folder. Images will be attached to the current comment, but will also be available to drag and drop into other comments as duplicates, even if you delete them from the current comment. Since we presume most inspectors want the most complete permanent record possible, there is no way to permanently delete an image from a project directory within the program. You must navigate to your external folder and manually delete. Depending on your selected options, your hot folder buttons will import one or more photos.
- Once images are attached, they can be captioned, or click on the image for an image optoins menu.
- The image options include "adjust", "annotate", and remove. "Adjust" allows or cropping and rotating. "Annotate" allows for embedding arrows and text. The original image will still be available from batch drag and drop, so if you wish to revert you can.
